HGV DRIVERS... THIS IS YOUR CALL TO ARMS.

They say it takes 100,000 signatures to get change debated in Parliament.
But with just over 300,000 of us left in the UK, the odds are rigged.
They’ve counted on our silence.
On our exhaustion.
On us moaning at truck stops but never making a move.

Not anymore.

🔥 You were "THE ROAD HEROS" during COVID.

They clapped for us when the country was on it's knees. Giving us well overdue key worker status because they needed us.
Then they slashed our allowances, cut our pay, buried us under exploitative employment contracts and removed our key worker status.

Where were the unions?
Where were the politicians?
WHERE WAS THE FIGHT?

It’s been years of suffering in silence but HGV Shield is done waiting.

This isn’t a strike.

This isn’t a protest.
This is your last chance to put your name to something that might actually fix this industry for good.

How many times have you said:

“This industry’s broken…”
“Nothing ever changes…”
“I’m sick of being used…”

Then do something!
We’re not asking for money.
We’re not asking for time off work.
We’re asking for your name, your email and your backing.

That’s it. One click. One move. One moment.

Even if your job’s good now, what about next year?

All it takes is one change of manager… one new policy…
and suddenly you’re another overworked, underpaid number again.

This reform is your insurance policy.
Once it’s written into law, they can’t touch us.
We’ll set new rules they can’t wriggle out of.

💥 And if the government ignores us?

Then we go louder.
HGV Shield will go national, we will name and shame, expose contracts, target every body that turned a blind eye.
With you behind us, they won’t be able to hide.

THIS IS IT!

Not just for you but for the next generation of HGV drivers.
So they don't get chewed up by the same broken system.

ADD YOUR NAME NOW!

We’ll take the hits.
We’ll do the legwork.
But you have to make this move.

No one’s coming to save us.
So we built the solution ourselves.

SIGN THE REFORM, STAND WITH HGV SHIELD!

Fair Employment Contracts

Contracts must be written in plain, understandable English.

Maximum of 48 hours per week unless overtime is specifically agreed and paid at a fair rate.

Any contract without a stated number of hours should be deemed legally void.

Transparency on Bonuses and Uplifts

All forms of bonuses, incentives, and performance uplifts must be clearly itemised.

These payments must not be used to meet the legal minimum wage.

Drivers must be able to verify and track these earnings easily.

Statutory Allowances Must Be Protected

Night-out allowances must be tax-free and paid separately from wages.

Meal allowances should be reclassified by HMRC as non-taxable.

Companies may not roll these into basic pay.

CPC Qualification Reform

CPC should be reduced to 2 days (14 hours) covering essential safety and legal updates.

Training costs should be split between government and employer or paid fully by the employer.

Focus must shift to real-world HGV knowledge, not outdated classroom sessions.

HGV Licence Reform

Calls for HGV and personal car licences to be separated.

Offences committed while driving professionally should not affect private driving licences.

If separation is not possible, HGV drivers should be granted 12 additional penalty points on their licence.

Road Safety & Driver Awareness

Mandatory HGV awareness training should be added to the UK car driving test.

Includes blind spots, braking distances, turning space, and cyclist risks.

A national video campaign should be used to change public behaviour around HGVs.

Planning and Hours Transparency

Employers must keep internal records explaining any week where a driver exceeds 55 hours.

Removes the loophole where “voluntary” extended hours are abused.

Empowers drivers to challenge excessive working hours without fear.

Each reform point is backed by specific examples of systemic abuse, legal shortcomings, or economic unfairness and each aims to raise the industry standard for present and future UK HGV Drivers

HGV Shield will actively challenge every official body standing in the way of fair treatment for drivers including MPs, Parliament, the DVLA, the National Highways Agency, HMRC, and any other institution that impacts the HGV industry.

Here are the key reform points we are targeting first and we will not stop until they are addressed.

This Is It. Don’t Let It Pass You By.

This is your one chance.
Not next week. Not next year. Now.

If you’ve ever sat in your cab, drained and unheard…
If you’ve ever said, “something needs to change”

For the 15-hour days.
For the broken promises.
For every driver who gave their life to this job and got nothing back.

Without your signature, we won’t get through the gates.
We’re not asking for money. Not asking you to strike.

Just your name and email address

This is the moment. Make it count.
Back the reform. Be part of something that will never come around again.
